About
Greg Charlton is a Fredericton based Canadian visual artist who concentrates on themes concerning time, place, and change. He often uses representations of North American architecture and infrastructure as a metaphorical device to enter into these themes. Greg’s work also weaves the past into the present through a referencing of specific communities and art historical sources. His practice includes drawing, painting and site-specific sculptural installation.
Greg’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and can be found in many private and several public art collections, including the Canada Council for the Arts, the New Brunswick Art Bank, the University of New Brunswick, and the Beaverbrook Art Gallery. He has been awarded project grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council, and the New Brunswick Arts Board. Greg holds a BFA from the Ontario College of Art and Design University and teaches Drawing and Design at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design.

“Greg Charlton’s accomplished vision, great skill, and overarching themes create a solid, meaningful, and poetic body of work that illuminates curiosities in the Canadian landscape while unveiling scenes of national and historical significance.”
